Seven Deadly Sins
This incredible movie swept the 1999 Adult Video News awards (the adult industry's equivalent of the Oscars) that were presented in Las Vegas Jan. 8, 2000!
Here are the honors that the film won:
* Best Adult Film of 1999!
* Best Adult Film Director (Ren Savant)
* Best Adult Screenplay (Ren Savant and Eugenie Brown)
* Best Film Editing
*Best Film Art Direction
* Best All Girl Sex Scene (Janine and Julia Ann)
It's not often that an adult movie sweeps this many of the top awards, creates such a "buzz" that it not only is featured on a nationally syndicated show (Howard Stern) but has also started an impromptu discussion on the Internet.
The movie is "Seven Deadly Sins" from Vivid, and the discussions seem to center around matching the seven deadly sins with the actual movie.
As a matter of fact, at a holiday party at Hustler's Hollywood Bookstore, there was a contest held to see who could (without looking them up) cite what the seven deadly sins were.
In our constant quest to give you the best information, and to keep you reading this, here are the seven deadly sins, in no particular order: Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Covetousness, Sloth. Okay, now here's where the game begins. After you watch this movie (and you'll watch it many, many times, try to match the action to the sin. And it's harder than it sounds.
For instance, when Julia Ann and Janine start the flick with some of the wildest girl/girl action ever filmed, what sin is that? Are the ladies sinning with "pride" because they have such knockout, dynamite, incredible bods? Or maybe "gluttony" because they can't eat enough of each other's pussies?
Or how about Michael J. Cox (the Noah Wyle of the porn world) and his scene with two stunners, Veronica and Laura? Is he doing the sin of "covetousness" (wanting what someone else has) as he fucks these two girls, or is his sin "Greed," since he doesn't want anyone else to be there?
And then what about us out in the audience? Truth be told, I was "envious" of Cox who had his pleasure with the two ladies, and, of course, I was guilty of "sloth" since an exceptionally long time was spent on the couch watching the numerous sex scenes play out.
After about a dozen viewings, none of my sex cohorts could determine where "anger" came in, since we had pretty well categorized the other sins. One colleague thought that maybe the ass fucking scenes counted, since there is some brutal thrusting and ramming? After some debate, ass-fucking bit the dust, since it was concluded that that act fell more under the categories of "Lust" and "Gluttony" (as in "can't get enough of that booty").
The lack of anger really annoyed us since that left a flaw in an otherwise almost perfect flick. Maybe it should just be called "Six Deadly Sins" but that didn't make any sense.
Finally, one of our sex-buds came up with the right idea. When you watch the movie, you get angry that there aren't more multiple angles, so you can see every scene in full in and out glory.
